What I Do

I work at the intersection of analytics, public health, and applied research to solve real-world health problems. My experience includes analyzing large health datasets, building predictive and statistical models, designing reproducible workflows, and translating findings into actionable recommendations for research, healthcare, and public health practice.

Areas of Focus

  • Real-world data analysis using EHR, survey, and clinical datasets
  • Predictive modeling and machine learning for health applications
  • Health equity and disparities research
  • Clinical research recruitment and representation
  • Public health informatics and reproducible analytics

Selected Projects

AI and Machine Learning for Cancer Screening Promotion

I have developed analytic approaches to better understand factors associated with breast and cervical cancer screening behaviors. This work integrates demographic, clinical, and behavioral data to identify patterns that can inform more targeted and equitable intervention strategies.

Focus areas:

  • Predictive modeling
  • Risk factor identification
  • Screening behavior analysis
  • Health disparities

Clinical Trial Recruitment Optimization

My research has examined recruitment conversations and participation barriers among underrepresented populations in clinical research. Using computational methods and applied analytics, I explore how communication patterns, trust, and structural barriers shape participation in research.

Focus areas:

  • Representation in clinical research
  • Recruitment analytics
  • Natural language processing applications
  • Health equity

Population Health Analytics Using National Survey Data

I use large-scale public health datasets, including survey data, to investigate determinants of preventive care, developmental outcomes, and access-related barriers. These projects emphasize rigorous statistical methods and public health relevance.

Focus areas:

  • Survey-weighted analysis
  • Preventive care utilization
  • Child and maternal health
  • Population-level disparities

Public Health Informatics and Data Science Education

In addition to applied research, I build practical training experiences that prepare students to use modern analytic tools in public health settings. This includes curriculum development in R, reproducible reporting, and health data analysis.

Focus areas:

  • Reproducible workflows
  • Applied R programming
  • Data communication
  • Workforce development

Project Approach

Across projects, I aim to connect rigorous analytic methods with real-world impact. My work is grounded in strong epidemiologic thinking, modern data science methods, and a commitment to improving population health through actionable insight.
